PAS stands for “Presidential Appointment with Senate Confirmation”. This is the formal process by which The President of The United States selects individuals to serve in leadership roles within Federal Government Agencies, Departments, Boards, Commissions, Committees and Councils. As required by the U.S. Constitution, certain individuals appointed by the President require a formal confirmation hearing before a full vote of the U.S. Senate.
